The summer introductory classes starting on 11 & 12 Feb are nearly book out (still 2 more places for the Wednesdays as I write). For those already booked, expect an email in the next few day. For those who missed out, we have just opened bookings for the same class in Winter, starting Tuesday 14 July.
New introductory class now on Wednesday nights from 12 Feb 2020
Our Tuesday night Reading Plato introductory class is nearly full so we have added a new class on Wednesday nights, 6.30 pm from 12 February 2020.
Plato for advanced students

If you’re new to philosophy then take our introductory course. But if you’ve done a bit before, then this might be the course for you: Plato and the Philosophy of the Unsayable. MSCP is a great Melbourne institution promoting philosophical studies outside the scope of university courses. At their 2020 summer school they have asked us to teach Plato as you would never know him at uni. Join us on five Thursday evenings from 16 Jan 2020. MSCP even video the sessions if you can’t make it to Melbourne.
Reading Plato: Feb-Mar 2020
Enrolments are now open for our Reading Plato course, Tuesday (FULL) Wednesday nights, 6.30 pm, starting 12 Feb, 2020 at our new central city location, Greek Community Centre, Lonsdale St, Melbourne.
Platonic Esoteric Geometry
Tuesdays nights, 8 pm, weekly from 15 October 2019, Melbourne, North side
- Get in touch with the universal form of experience
- Open your eyes to similarity and self-similarity in nature, art and architecture.
- Practice geometry as the ancients did without the tyranny of scale, without the distraction of numbers, without equations or algebra, and discover why it is the gateway to Platonism.
Visit to the Hellenic Museum
On Saturday afternoon at 2 pm (21 Sept) the Platonic Academy is checking out the Hellenic Museum of Melbourne, not just because it is wonderful but as a possible meeting venue. (That this event will be followed by an Orphic rite of the equinox is only a rumour.) All welcome. Just let us know.
