Alan Watts

After Easter we start a new course on Wednesday nights reading Alan Watts (1915-73). Watts was a leader in the Western reception of Eastern mysticism during the 1950s and 1960s. His interests and writings cover Christian mysticism, Zen Buddhism, Taoism and the Vedanta tradition of Hinduism. The text we will be reading provides one of the best summaries of Watts’s own philosophy view, which is found to have deep resonances in Plato and Platonism.

Platonic Esoteric Geometry continues now on Thursday nights where we shift from first principles to tessellations and spirals. If you would like to join in but have no compasss experience, then let us know and we will get you up to speed.
